
Born in Luxembourg, Cyprien began studying the cello at the age of four. He completed his studies at the Paris Conservatory, earning a Master’s degree under the guidance of Prof. Jérôme Pernoo, then completed postgraduate studies with Prof. Clemens Hagen and Prof. Lionel Cottet. He has participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Frans Helmerson, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Gary Hoffman during academies like the Kronberg Academy Masterclasses and Les Rencontres Musicales de Gstaad. In 2017, Cyprien made his debut with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg and has since performed at prestigious venues including the Victoria Hall, the Salle Cortot, the KKL, the Philharmonie de Luxembourg and the Basel Stadtkasino. He has also appeared at festivals such as the Festival de Bellerive, Festival Pablo Casals, Festival Ravel, and the Schiermonnikoog Festival. Cyprien has won first prizes at various international competitions, including the Léopold Bellan, Liezen, and Tiziano Rossetti Competitions, and in 2024, he won the first prize at the Triomphe de l’Art Competition in Brussels. A passionate chamber musician, he was a member of the Cervin Quartet, reaching the semi-finals of the Carl Nielsen Competition and winning first prizes at the Fanny Mendelssohn and Lugano Competitions in 2023. He has performed alongside renowned musicians such as Renaud Capuçon, Clemens Hagen, Guillaume Chilemme, Gérard Caussé, Lionel Cottet, Claire Désert, Diemut Poppen, David Castro-Balbi, and François Salque. His performances have been lauded in specialized publications, including The Violin Channel, The Strad, and Pizzicato Magazine. He plays on a Giovanni Cavani cello, lent to him by the Maggini Foundation.
